{"id":545,"date":"2017-11-01T21:13:43","date_gmt":"2017-11-02T05:13:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/victoriamultifaith.com\/?p=545"},"modified":"2017-11-06T18:06:03","modified_gmt":"2017-11-07T02:06:03","slug":"agm-26-november-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/victoriamultifaith.com\/?p=545","title":{"rendered":"AGM 26 November 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>\u201cLiving Well Dying Well\u201d <\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>The world\u2019s faith traditions offer a veritable mountain of wisdom on this theme, their teachings enshrining eternal truths and reinforcing each other\u2019s strengths and unique insights into the spiritual nature of living well and dying with dignity.\u00a0VMS has chosen this as the theme for its 2017 Annual General Meeting in order to launch a program based on this theme early in the new year.<\/p>\n<p>The AGM will be held from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, 26 November, at the Ismaili Jamatkhana, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.ca\/maps\/place\/1250+Esquimalt+Rd,+Victoria,+BC+V9A+3N8\/@48.4303046,-123.4174849,17z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x548f735026538efb:0xaf250e001e4ea205!8m2!3d48.4303046!4d-123.4152962\">1250 Esquimalt Rd.<\/a>, Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>The theme came out of a greatly appreciated project of the same name by the Centre for Earth and Spirit: \u201cIn many communities and families, aging, death and dying are often topics we avoid. \u00a0In the absence of\u00a0these meaningful conversations, there is a good chance that we will face end of life issues in crisis, with fear, anxiety and isolation. \u00a0What if we could talk openly about aging, death and dying as part of living vibrantly?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Project leader Kim Holl, co-chair of the Centre for Earth &amp; Spirit, will give the keynote address at 3 p.m. following the administrative portion of the AGM and a refreshment break. Small facilitated table discussions will explore the topic.\u00a0The project will continue with monthly \u201ccommunity conversations\u201d on various aspects of this theme, between January and May.<\/p>\n<p>SPEAKER KIM HOLL<\/p>\n<p>As a storyteller, social entrepreneur and compassionate communicator, Kim spent a decade and a half in the USA working with a diverse group of non-profits leading social change initiatives.
